Farmington is famous for being home to Connie Mack’s World Series baseball tournament. For 50 years, the annual event has been held at Ricketts Park. The annual strongman competition in Farmington occurs on the last Saturday of July in San Juan Plaza.
Farmington’s annual Riverfest is an event that celebrates area rivers with music, entertainment, fine arts, riverside trail walks, and river rafting, as well as a 10K and 5K run and walk.
Local landmarks include the Navajo Dam, Shiprock, B Square Ranch, Pinon Hills Golf Course, Bisti-De-Na-Zin Wilderness, Aztec Ruins, and the Farmington Regional Airport. Higher education institutions include San Juan College and Fort Lewis College.
